Mungo Stories: Walk Together app for iPhone and iPad
Developer: SharingStories Foundation
First release : 05 Jul 2024
App size: 361.52 Mb
This app shares knowledge and stories from us, the living Traditional Custodians of Mungo, the Barkandji/Paakantyi, Mutthi Mutthi, and Ngiyampaa people.
These stories share how our ancestors lived, how they survived an ice age, clues to what animals they ate and how they hunted them, activities, culture and values that continue today.
The voices you hear in the stories are ours: Custodians from the Three Traditional Tribal Groups, the Barkandji/Paakantyi, Mutthi Mutthi, and Ngiyampaa people.
The images you see were drawn and animated by the children of Mildura Primary School as well as by Ngiyampaa artist Nola Taylor and SharingStories Foundation, led by us.
There are 10 stories to find, located at story markers placed around the park. Once you find a marker, scan it using your phone to watch the video.
Also included in the app is a gallery of images of our community, information on how to care for Mungo and how to book an Aboriginal Ranger Tour.
This app was produced as a collaboration between the Willandra Lakes Region World Heritage Aboriginal Advisory Group, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and SharingStories Foundation.
